Rental Information:
We work with three rental car companies Havanautos,
Transautos and REX. Please find below
each company's rental conditions:
Rex (Car Models: Skoda Fabia).
Cars will delivered to
the clients at the airports in Havana, Varadero,
Santiago de Cuba and Holguín and in the
offices located on Linea y Malecón in
Vedado, Varadero’s Meliá Las Americas
and the “El Senador” Hotel of Cayo
Coco. An additional charge will not be applied
when the cars are returned to these places,
although different to the sites where they were
picked up. An additional fee will be applied
in the case of the delivery or collection charges.
For the delivery or collection fees, the following
rates will be applied:

for the clients. |
The Damage Coverage will be paid directly
to REX, the daily applicable tariff is 15.00
USD for Skoda cars, 20.00 USD for manual Audi
A3 and A4 cars and 30.00 USD in the case of
VW Sahran sedans. 200.00 USD is deducted when
the client is responsible for damages or accidents.
The client will pay 55.00 USD for the tank of
fuel in the case of Audi A3 and A4 cars, 45.00
USD in the case of Skoda vehicles and 65.00
USD for VW Saharan sedans.
Damage Coverage. It covers total or partial
robbery, collision, overturn and disasters,
and in the event of an accident, damages to
third parties or to the car. The daily rates
vary according to the car. 200 USD is deducted
in the event of damages to the vehicle or any
other type of damage to the car (for example,
the tapestry of the seats). This won’t
be charged to the client if he proves, by means
of an official document, that he is not responsible
for it.
These official documents should be issued by
the police or by the hotel’s manager’s
office in the parking lot where the car suffered
damages or was stolen. In the case of robbery,
because the client has not parked the vehicle
in a parking lot with the necessary protection,
it will be considered robbery due to negligence
and the client will be held responsible for
it. Also, it will also be applied in the case
of damaged tires or rims.
Deposits in guarantee: They have to be deposited
in cash or by means of credit card presented
by the client. The cards accepted are the following;
VISA, MASTERCARD, EUROCARD and JCB. They can
not be issued by US banks.
The car must be returned with the tank full
of fuel. If the client returns the car with
an empty or partially empty tank, he will have
to reimburse the amount corresponding to the
empty capacity.
The vehicle can only be driven by people registered
in the contract.
A person other than the one that signs the contract
can drive the car without additional charge.
Minimum age required to drive: 21 years. The
Audi TT and the VW Caravelle
are exceptions, which have a minimum driving
age of 30.
The client should present his passport and driver’s
license.
The client should return the vehicle under the
same conditions that it was received when rented.
REX will take all precautions to avoid flaws
in the vehicles. REX won't be responsible for
some unpredictable flaw attributable to the
maker that might occur or appear, or for any
consequence derived from such flaws.
The client is responsible for using the correct
type and quality of fuel that the vehicle requires
(special gasoline only).
The client should pay to REX:
all additional charges, including insurance
if it was accepted, fuel, etc.
a maximum deductible amount of 3000 USD if the
client didn’t accept to pay the damage
cover.
in case of damage, an obligatory deductible
amount of up to 200.00 USD if the insurance
was accepted.
the total cost of the damages to the vehicle
as well as other damages caused by the use of
alcohol, drugs or medications.
the total cost of the damages if the vehicle
was not driven by people registered in the contract.
In the event of accident or robbery, the client
should:
immediately report it to the police.
fill the report of damages and notify REX.
take the necessary safety measures with the
vehicle, avoiding additional damages.
The conditions related previously are only the
most important and have an informative nature.
Havanautos (Car Models:
Daewoo Lanos, Daewoo Nubira or Toyota Tercel).
-- Unique insurange against all risks: 15.00
USD daily for car. It covers total or
partial robbery (except audio equipment), collision,
overturn and disaster. In the event of multiple
accident, it covers damages to the car and the
third party.
- If you are not insured and buy the non obligatory
insurance, a deposit of 500.00 USD should be
made in cash or by means of credit card. If
you are not insured, you should make a guarantee
deposit of 250.00 USD.
- Unlimited Mileage.
- Full tank of fuel (0.90 USD a liter, payable
by the client upon delivery of the car).
- The fuel left in the tank upon returning the
car cannot be purchased.
- The established minimum driving age is 25
years. For clients between 16 and 24 years of
age, an additional 5.00 USD must be paid (payable
once).
- The vehicle can only be driven by people registered
in the contract.
- An additional payment of 15.00 USD (payable
once) is established for the possibility of
registering a second driver, other than the
one signing the contract,
- The client must present a valid driver’s
license.
- The client must fulfill all regulations issued
by the car rental company in terms
of the established mileage needed to maintain
the car. Viajes Cubanacanis not responsible
for the lack of compliance with the clauses
of the contract signed by the client.
Transautos (Car Models: Hyundai
Accent or Mitsubishi Lancer).
Rental conditions:
- Obligatory insurance: 10.00 USD daily per
car. It covers total robbery, fire, overturn,
damages for natural disasters and damages to
third parties. In the event of accident, it
is essential that the client report it to the
police station of the place in which the accident
occurred. If the vehicle’s driver is responsible,
350.00 USD is deducted from the client if the
police or the TRANSAUTOS inspector’s report
is presented. If the client does not show the
police or inspector’s report, he must
cover all damages.
- A 250.00 USD guarantee deposit in cash or
by means of credit card.
- Unlimited Mileage.
- Tank full of fuel (capacity between 50 and
60 liters; at 0.90 USD a liter, payable by the
client upon delivery of the car).
- The fuel left in the tank upon returning the
car cannot be bought.
- The vehicle can only be driven by people registered
in the contract.
- Supplement for a second driver (different
than the one who signs the contract): 3.00 USD
daily.
- Minimum age required to drive: 21 years. At
least one year of driving experience is required.
- The client will fulfill the regulations issued
by car rental company concerning the established
mileage needed to maintain the car. Viajes Cubanacan
is not responsible for the lack of compliance
with the clauses of the contract signed by the
client.
- A driver’s license must be presented.
Important
The previously mentioned conditions established
by car rental companies are only the most important
and have an informative nature. Viajes Cubanacan
is not responsible for the changes or modifications
that, without previous notice, car rental companies
might introduce. |
