Suggested Tours
If you arrive in Cuba through Havana's José Martí International Airport, we suggest the following tour:
Havana-Viñales Valley-Soroa-Yumurí Valley-Varadero-Havana

Take the National Highway and drive west for one-and-a-half hours approximately to get to Pinar del Río, capital city of the province by the same name. This region is famous for growing the world's best tobacco. From Pinar del Rmo, drive north along a winding mountain highway and within 20 minutes you will be admiring the beautiful landscape of Viñales Valley. Visitors to the Valley may choose from any of the three Horizontes Hotels in the area: Horizontes Los Jazmines Hotel, Horizontes La Ermita Hotel and Horizontes Rancho San Vicente Hotel.

On your way back from Viñales, stop at Soroa tourist resort, located on the western area of the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve. Major attractions are the largest orchid gardens in Cuba, Manantiales river waterfalls and Castillo de las Nubes lookout point.

Keep driving along the highway and then on the road that surrounds the city of Havana, take Vía Blanca road to go to Matanzas province. Some three kilometers before getting to the city of Matanzas, through a secondary road you can reach the Horizontes Casa del Valle Motel located in Yumurí Valley. This is a great place to enjoy nature and recreational activities. The hotel's comforts include swimming pool, massage parlor, gym and sauna and it serves excellent typical Cuban and international cuisine.
Finally, we recommend that you to visit any of our beautiful beaches: the world-famous Varadero, only 40 km from Yumurí Valley, where Horizontes has 14 facilities where you can enjoy a pleasant holiday, or Santa María del Mar, located some 17 km from downtown Havana.

If you arrive in Cuba through Varadero's Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport, we suggest the following itinerary:
Varadero-C. Zapata-Cienfuegos-Trinidad-St Spíritus- St Clara

Drive south of Varadero on secondary roads that pass through typical Cuban towns like Cárdenas, Máximo Gómez, Perico, Agramonte and Jagüey Grande, and enter the area known as Zapata Península, where Horizontes Hotels has two facilities: Horizontes Playa Larga Villa, and Horizontes Playa Girón Villa. There, you can enjoy fishing on the Treasure Lagoon or scuba diving off Playa Larga, admire the abundant flora and fauna of this region, particularly its birds, or take a swim on the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Then drive east of Cienfuegos and travel in time to Trinidad, a Museum City on the Caribbean Sea that was declared by UNESCO as one of mankind's cultural heritage sites. Horizontes Hotels suggests accommodation at Horizontes Las Cuevas Hotel in the city or Horizontes Costasur Hotel, on María Aguilar beach, just a few kilometers away from Trinidad.

On your way back to Varadero, make a stopover at the city of Santa Clara, on the center of the island, and check in at Horizontes Los Caneyes Hotel. Its facilities are a reproduction of Cuba's native Indian's dwellings during the pre-Columbian times, and are surrounded by coconut groves, ferns and vines. Out of Santa Clara, you may take the road to Corralillo and take advantage of the discounts and gratuities offered by Horizontes Elguea Spa and Hotel, just 90 minutes from Varadero beach.

If you arrive in Cuba through Holguín's Calixto García International Airport, we suggest the following itinerary:
Holguín-Camagüey-Sancti-Spíritus-Trinidad-Holguín.

If you choose the first itinerary, you will start by touring the city of Holguín, founded in 1525 by Captain García Holguín, and visiting Loma de la Cruz, and Mayabe lookout points. From there, you take the Central Highway and drive to Camagüey; on the way, visit Las Tunas, capital city of the province by the same name. When you arrive in Camagüey, check in at Horizontes Camagüey Hotel. In the evening, enjoy the show at the hotel's cabaret; by day, take an excursion to Jardines del Rey cays. In its urban layout-narrow streets leading to small and large squares-Camagüey is the most colonial of Cuban cities. It is also known as the City of Earthenware Jars and is venue to many important cultural institutions.

If you decide to travel westwards, take the Central Highway to Ciego de Ávila and on to Sancti Spíritus province. There you may continue your trip following itinerary No.2 for the regions of Sancti Spíritus and Trinidad.

Holguín - Santiago de Cuba - Baracoa -Holguín.

You may also take the other option and drive to Santiago de Cuba, founded by Diego Velázquez in 1515. This city, surrounded by the Sierra Maestra mountains, is particularly charming with its steep streets and combined colonial and modern architecture. One day is not enough to enjoy the beauty of the city and the costumes, music and character of its people.

You may check in at Horizontes San Juan or Horizontes Las Américas Hotels. Taking a tour of Baconao Park is a must and there, Horizontes Hotels offers overnight stays at Gran Piedra Motel, in a singularly beautiful natural environment. And if you still have time, we suggest you to visit Baracoa, the first township founded by Spaniards in Cuba. Accommodation is available at Porto Santo and Castillo de Baracoa Hotels.

If you arrive in Cuba through Santiago de Cuba's Antonio Maceo
International Airport, we suggest the following tour:
Santiago de Cuba - Baracoa - Holguín - Santiago de Cuba.

Take full advantage of your stay in Santiago de Cuba, the most Caribbean of Cuban cities. The staff at Horizontes San Juan and Horizontes Las Américas Hotels will be glad to direct you to the most important attractions in the city. Do not miss Baconao Park; there, Horizontes Hotels offers overnight stays at Gran Piedra Motel, in a singularly beautiful natural environment.

And if you still have time, we suggest that you visit Baracoa, the first township founded by Spaniards in Cuba. Visitors who have taken a two-week program are invited to include a one- or two-night stay in Holguín, a city that will certainly be of interest to them.
