Its architectural motifs and its decoration evoke the beautiful and maritime Spanish region of Santander, where the owner and builder of the hotel, José Cabrero Mier, was from. The main shipowners from that city, such as De la Mortera Count who owned fleets that operated in the West Indies, had their offices in this building. |
